Your Tasks
The Role
We’re looking for a people-focused Machine Shop Team Leader to lead a small team of 4 in a busy manufacturing environment. This role will require some time on the tools but more about developing your team, driving performance, and ensuring smooth daily operations.
Your Profile
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support, and develop a small team of operators
- Plan and manage daily workload to meet output and quality targets
- Coach and train team members to build skills and flexibility
- Monitor performance, using KPIs to drive engagement and improvement
- Support production planning and provide regular progress updates
- Ensure a safe, compliant, and well-organised working environment
- Troubleshoot issues and support problem resolution
- Work closely with quality, engineering, and planning teams
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Background in machining (CNC/manual) with practical shop floor experience
- Previous team leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong communication and people management skills
- Ability to motivate, coach, and develop others
- Good understanding of production processes and quality standards
- Organised, proactive, and solution-focused
